Edge cases

What we do — and don’t — buy.

We don’t currently buy lab-grown diamonds. The wholesale market for them is volatile and we won’t quote prices we can’t honour fairly. We’re happy to identify a stone for you free of charge if you’re unsure.

These are diamond simulants and we don’t buy them. We can identify them for free if you’re unsure what you have.

We do buy treated diamonds (HPHT, fracture-filled, irradiated) but at materially lower prices than untreated stones. We always disclose treatments transparently in our offer.

We buy lower-clarity stones from I1 to I3 — there’s a strong market for them in commercial jewellery. Pricing reflects the inclusion grade.
