In brief

Selling loose diamonds in the UK works best through a direct-trade buyer with Rapnet access. Send your certificate number for an immediate quote, or post the stone in our free insured pack for an in-person valuation and same-day payment.

What we look for

Specifics matter.

  • GIA, IGI or HRD-certified single stones from 0.30ct upward
  • Parcels of melée and small goods (we’ll quote per carat)
  • Fancy shapes — princess, oval, cushion, emerald, pear, marquise
  • Old European and old mine cuts — strong antique market
  • Investment-grade stones (D–F, IF–VVS2) priced at trade premium

How we price it

Transparent fundamentals.

Loose stones are priced at the closest Rapaport benchmark for their shape, size, colour and clarity, less a small wholesale margin. Investment-grade D–F / IF–VVS2 stones trade at near-Rapaport. Lower grades and fancy shapes carry sharper discounts but still trade at fair market value.

Why people sell

An ordinary, often emotional decision.

Estate liquidation, dealer downsizing, an inheritance of loose stones with no setting in mind. Our trade channel gives loose goods their full market value rather than a retail-buyer’s discount.

Common questions

FAQs.

Yes. Melée from 0.005ct upward in commercial-grade colour and clarity is something we trade weekly. We’ll quote per carat once we’ve examined the parcel.

For single stones, 0.30ct is our practical minimum. Below that we prefer parcels rather than individual stones.

We trade against the Rapaport list daily. Our offer reflects current market discounts for the size, shape and grade — typically 15–35% below list, depending on category.
